Why a Grade 4 in Maths and English Is Essential
A grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English Language is required for most A-Level programmes, college courses, apprenticeships and university applications. Students who do not achieve this in Year 11 are required to continue studying and resit.

GCSE Maths and English Language resits are available in November and in May and June each year. The November sitting is for Year 12 students and above who did not achieve grade 4 or above. All subjects can be resit in the summer sitting.
Only GCSE Maths and English Language are available in November. All GCSE subjects can be resit in the May and June sitting. NLG provides support for Maths and English in both sittings and other subjects for the summer resit.
NLG GCSE resit 1:1 tutoring costs £42 per 40-minute session. Eligible GCSE Maths and GCSE English resit groups start from £20 per week, subject to availability, sufficient enrolment and suitable placement.
