2. Check the total

The calculator adds your points automatically and creates a plain-English summary that you can copy or screenshot.

3. Compare your offer

Enter a target points total or A-Level grade offer, then use the next-step guidance to decide whether to check UCAS, Clearing, reviews or resits.

What your total means

UCAS points are only one part of the decision

At or above target

Check UCAS Hub and the university’s conditions. Some offers require named subjects, minimum grades, interviews or other conditions.

Close to target

You may still have options. Check UCAS first, speak to school or college, and contact the university if guidance allows.

Below target

Look at Clearing, reviews of marking where appropriate, or a resit plan. A free consultation can help you understand NLG tutoring support for A-Level resits and subject-specific preparation.

Important disclaimer

This calculator is for general guidance only. UCAS Tariff points do not guarantee entry to a course. Universities and colleges set their own entry requirements and may assess grades, subjects, qualification type and course relevance differently. Always check the official UCAS course listing and the university or college website before making decisions.

What to do after calculating your UCAS points

If you meet your offer

Check UCAS Hub and any messages from the university. Keep your results and course details to hand.

If you miss your offer

Check UCAS Hub first. You may still be accepted, moved to insurance, offered a change, become eligible for Clearing or need to consider resits.

If the result looks wrong

Speak to school or college about scripts, review of marking and deadlines. Grades can go up, stay the same or go down.

If you are planning resits

Look at the subject gap, exam board, timeline and support needed. A structured plan is stronger than repeating the same revision approach.
